Seoul, October 4, 2023 – BSD City continues to strive towards becoming an integrated smart digital city. To realize this vision, Sinar Mas Land has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Samsung, one of the largest global companies and conglomerates in South Korea. Through its subsidiary, Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction Group (Samsung C&T-E&C Group), this collaboration aims to promote the development of smart cities in Indonesia.

 

MoU Signing by Sinar Mas Land and Samsung

 

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was conducted by Michael Widjaja (Group CEO of Sinar Mas Land) and Oh Sechul (CEO of Samsung C&T-E&C Group), witnessed by Gandi Sulistiyanto (Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea) on September 26, 2023, at the Samsung C&T Headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. Both companies will collaborate to implement smart home technology, urban infrastructure development technology, information management, and renewable energy technology.

 

CEO of Samsung C&T-E&C Group, Oh Sechul, stated, "Currently, Indonesia is experiencing a surge in smart city project development, such as the relocation of the Capital City and the construction of other new cities. Samsung C&T-E&C Group plans to actively participate in these projects by utilizing the technology and expertise we have in the field of smart city infrastructure development."

 

Group CEO of Sinar Mas Land, Michael Widjaja, welcomed the collaboration, stating, "We have set a new standard for smart city development in Indonesia through the BSD City project. The government has also made it a model for the development of the Nusantara National Capital Integrated Area (IKN Nusantara). Technologies from the collaboration with Samsung C&T-E&C Group will also be applied in other township projects scattered across Jabodetabek, Batam, Surabaya, and Balikpapan, which are located near the National Capital, Nusantara."
